While at Chartres, you feel the history-- you know you are standing within something that has seen many different time periods and many different events. You can feel the millions of pilgrims that have come through and you can feel both World Wars. I can see why this is a UNESCO site-- I'm not French yet I felt this place was part of my heritage simply because I am a part of humanity.
