Avoid contact with birds in a zone affected by the aviary influenza

Avoid any contact with the poultries alive or dead in a zone touched by aviary influenza.
For example avoid :

  •    going to industrial and family farms or to poultries and birds markets,
  •    handling bird corpses or waste.

Basic precautions, in the event of contact in a breeding farm affected by the aviary influenza

These recommendations are particularly important for professionals in contact with birds or poultries in a breeding farm affected by the aviary influenza.

  • Wear protective clothing (gloves and boots), clean them regularly and change at the end of the day,
  • Reduce the sources of possible contamination: Avoid using very high pressure water jets for the cleaning of the animal manure (wear gloves and boots) and the handling of corpses or animal waste (wear waterproof gloves),
  • In the event of projections in the eyes,  rinse immediately with drinkable (i.e. clean) water,
  • Systematically wash your hands after any contact with the animals, animal waste or animal manure.
